Cooper turned 7 on December 30. Where has the time gone? He's not my baby boy anymore. I am so truly blessed to have this amazing little boy in my life.....the Lord has been so good to our family. It seems like just yesterday that we flew from Chicago to New York to Moscow to Salekhard Russia, were it was 35 below 0 to meet our son for the first time. We were sitting in the orphanage directors office when one of the caregivers came in with the most beautiful little boy I have ever seen. She set him on my lap, and he immediately started crying. She tried to comfort him in Russian, and I tried to comfort him in English...how confusing this all must have been for him. I am always thankful, but even more so on his birthday that his birthmother gave him life, what a truly remarkable women.
Our Cooper is loving and kind. He is so very patient with his little sister, he loves animals and loves life in general. Some days I'm pretty sure that the only reason he goes to school is to socialize. (His teacher tells us that the girls love him - is that supposed to happen already? I can see why - look at how cute he is!!) He has the best personality and is pretty darn funny. He's not afraid to tell you what's on his mind (he's an awful lot like his daddy and aunt J in that regards!!), but the best is that he still likes to sit on my lap, and hang out. I hope that when he's 21 he still wants to sit on my lap (well, next to me anyway) and hang out. Have I mentioned how stinkin cute he is? Anyway, I could go on and on. On his birthday we had a family Christmas party, but we did go and get him a cake the night before and had a little party. So, here he is our birthday boy............
