We had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. Ryan had to work, but we still got a lot done around the house, but still managed to have some fun. Our big project was to get the "$$$$" pool open. The dollar signs signify two things 1. The four letter word I would like to use every time I mention that pool, and 2. The amount of money we stick into it every year. Granted the kids love it, and on those very hot, muggy Michigan days I'm very grateful for it - but it's a money pit. Anyway, Ryan came home from work yesterday and we opened it up. We have lived in our house for 4 years now - and this may have been the best opening yet. I'm happy to tell you all that we are still married and living under the same roof!!!!! There are two things that could make us "go for the jugular" opening the pool, and putting up the Christmas tree. The Christmas tree went up pretty good this past year too. Maybe I'm mellowing out in my old age?!
We also went on a golfing date on Sunday afternoon. Ryan is on a Wednesday night league every week, however this was my first time out this season. Not sure why I went..........I guess just to spend some alone time with Ryan. I really like the serenity of golfing, the actual game itself (for lack of a better word) Sucks. Or, to be more truthful - I just Suck at the game!!
The kids had a great weekend too. On Saturday Cooper and Dawson (one of the boys across the street) helped me put in the submersible pump on the pool cover, and then caught all the tree frogs that were in among the pool equipment. Not sure why tree frogs?? There were 4 total - they kind of gross me out - so I'm thankful the boys were there. While we were doing this - Miss Isabelle was playing on the swings, slide, trampoline and making sand mud with the hose. We took a TON of baths this weekend. The weather was great - high 70's all weekend. We even let the kids play "slip and slide" on the pool cover while we were cleaning it off. Apparently gross, discusting slime doesn't bother kids when water and sliding are involved!!!!!
Hope everyone had a great holiday. Sorry no photos - I was just too busy!!

You are funny! Hope you get to have lots of fun out by the pool this summer. Can't wait to see more photos of the family. Wish I could've been there to help the boys chase the frogs ;) Sliding on slime...ewww that I would not do though...I'm sure it made a really slippery slide though... Yeah, I think I would have been giving lots of baths too
Have fun with the pool! It sounds like you had a very productive weekend. :-)
