Future scientists

We were playing in the pool the other day when Cooper disappeared into the house and came out with his "lab", and advised that he and Isabelle were going to cut open dead bees. Cooper does not like bees, actually I think it's safe to say he loathes them. Every year since we have moved into this house, he has gotten stung. Not just once - but several times. The bees LOVE Cooper. So this year, trying to be on the ball - we started spraying early, and amazingly enough I think it has actually worked. We have seen very few bees.

When Cooper was in the pool, he found two very nice specimens - still in one piece, and dead!!!!!! So, he kept one and gave one to Izzy. Out came the scalpels and the microscope, and the fun began. Seriously, they were busy for about an hour.....who knew? I think all scientists should be made to wear their life jackets to work, you never know when you'll need it!!!

I'm amazed at Isabelle's patience. I don't know if Mary Joyce would have had the patience to sit there and do that. She would have been much more interested in the pool, I think. BTW, the life jacket on the little scientist is definitely a nice touch.

Good thing Cooper isn't allergic, since they seem to love him so much! And I'm amazed at Isabelle's fine motor skills. The Tongginator still lags behind a bit in that area... I don't know if she could handle all of those "scientific instruments," especially when wearing a life jacket. LOL.
