Camping in Metamora
Last week we went camping at the Metamora Hadley Recreation Area, which is just south of Lapeer. We had a great time. We fished (which I will have to post photos of later. The princess caught the first fish and thought it was the greatest thing ever!! After we took it off the hook for her, she held it in her hand to check it out - and then chucked it back into the lake yelling "bye bye fishy") we swam, we had smores, but most importantly we just hung out together as a family.
The last night we were there was the start of "Metamora Days", and they had a hot air balloon launch. We parked in the middle of a field and sat along the perimeter of another huge field that had 15 hot air balloons that we could watch being assembled and then finally inflated. The festivities started at 5:30pm and it was sooooooo stinkin hot, I thought while waiting we would visit the food tent and get some ice cream. However when we got to the front of the line the kids saw they had corn on the cob, and opted for that instead. Huh......corn on the cob or ice cream????? Makes me wonder!!

Looks like a fun trip! :-)
ooooh what fun! And ooooooooh what a precious baby!!!! Just precious! All these new babies...nope I am NOT getting the baby bug...nope nope nope
There's quite an interest in your flooring. What kind of wood do you have? I am a total klutz and drop things a LOT so that's one reason why I haven't pushed for granite countertops...one crack and they are done for...I would on the other hand like Corian...but do tell me more about the wood...I wonder if going old world distressed look might help? The dents would add character to the wood....I am very interested in seeing your kitchen now :)
oh and Jared would absolutely have gone for the corn too. He LOVES LOVES LOVES corn on the cob. We need to get our gang together for a camping trip someday...wouldn't that be fun?
