Baby Ely

Alpha 1 Antitrypsen Deficiency. Ever hear of it?? Neither have I - until this morning. This is what my precious nephew has been diagnosed with. It's a genetic disease, that does not have a cure - however, there is a medication that will help the liver break down the proteins that the liver cannot get rid of!! Baby Ely starts that med today....and we pray that will be all it takes!! In four days he will have more blood work done to check his enzyme levels to see if it's working.
