Busy, busy, busy

I haven't posted about Ely since they came home. I'm busy....really not an excuse, but I am. He had the liver biopsy - which came out better than expected. Not a lot of scaring, which is good - and his bile ducts are present and working, another good thing. The reason for his skin color is the Alpha 1 disease, and he may stay this color his whole life. The dr. in Chicago did not completely rule out a liver transplant - but for now, baby Ely is as good as he can be. He will have to have weekly blood work to check on enzyme levels, and in a month he has to go back to Chicago for a follow up appointment, and possibly another liver biopsy. Poor baby, he's been poked and prodded more than I have in 35 years!! He is continually gaining weight, and is starting to have really good eye contact and we have great conversations (well, I talk and he coo's back!!!!). Please keep him and my sister's family in your thoughts and prayers, they surely need it.

I was thinking about emailing and asking for an update, so I'm glad to read this. It sounds like things are going pretty well for now. :-) Glad to read that.
